Before Establishment

Before the official founding of PASS – Peace for Sustainable Societies on January 15, 2020, our journey began as a group of young community activists in Aden. The founding members of PASS were active in civic, feminist, youth, and human rights initiatives since 2011. Together, they launched movements such as the Aden Youth Movement, the Let’s Coexist Initiative, and later the Alf Ba Civil and Coexistence Foundation.

Over nearly a decade of voluntary civic engagement, this team gained extensive experience in democracy promotion, human rights advocacy, gender equality, and community development. Building on this legacy, the founders came together once more in 2020 to establish PASS as a modern civil society institution. Today, PASS carries forward this history of activism, transforming it into structured, impactful, and sustainable programs that serve communities across Yemen.
